Adults provide guidance on most events and activities but the youth leaders are responsible for carrying out actions to operate the troop. These youth leaders meet on a monthly basis to discuss upcoming activities for the Troop. The Troop has a Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL). We have two patrols have around 13 active scouts.
Scott Strother is the Scoutmaster and Bethany Strother is the Committee Chairman. The Troop Committee meets once a month and is comprised of the Committee Chairperson, Scoutmaster, Asst. Scoutmasters, Treasurer, Committee Members, and event chairs.
In order for Troop 2720 to have a successful program, we need the help of adult volunteers. Parents are invited to any activity. Observing scout meetings and activities is a good way to see scouts in action and to get to know the scouts and adults. Adults can have quite a bit of fun during the year. There may be a skill that an adult would love to teach the youth. There may also be skills adults would love to learn while being involved with the youth while they earn many of the 100+ merit badge offerings by BSA. There are many opportunities to expand knowledge around a variety of topics such as outdoor survival and leadership.
